Hey everybody, Chris here again. I was reading in Matthew about two weeks ago, and I came across this Scripture:
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14 ESV)
God has been showing me since I read this all of the areas in my life where I have had to make certain decisions to encounter Him on deeper and more intimate levels. In the few amount of times that I have had free time, I have been tempted to watch Netflix, surf the internet, or try and “relax” in some sort of way. Because of the words of Jesus, I have been deeply convicted and moved to be much more intentional with that free time. Lately, I have chosen to pray, read, and soak in His presence. It has been transformational, and it is so powerful!!! He promises that He will reveal Himself to and reward those who pursue Him (Proverbs 8:17, Hebrews 11:6, Jeremiah 29:13, John 14:21, Matthew 7:7, 1 Chronicles 22:19, Acts 17:27, Luke 12:31, Psalm 69:32, James 4:8). The list goes on and on.
If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. This is simple, but not easy. It’s very hard, yet it leads to life, and few will ever find it! The Holy Spirit has been challenging me in this, and I believe that He wants to challenge you too. This applies to the natural and spiritual state. If we take it easy in the gym, we will never get any stronger. If we take the easy way out and eat candy and ice cream all day, we will get fat, sick, and die much sooner. If we don’t suck it up and do the hard things, our houses will always be messy, our economy will fall apart, and we will rot away with this world.
I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of compromise. I don’t want to waste my life away taking the easy way out. I want to put on the armor of God, take every single thought captive, and fight the impossible battle God has equipped us to win. I want to see the hard things, and then run headfirst into battle, destroying the lies of the enemy. The beauty of it all is that Jesus promises that He will partner with us in this journey. He will make our burdens light and our yoke easy. We cannot do it on our own, but He can. Partner with us in this journey of no compromise. We want to see the kingdom of God come down on earth and transform the people and world around us. Let’s stand up today and bring restoration to the lost.
I love you all, but I know that your Father loves you so much more. He loves you in an incomprehensible way. He loves you so much that He has given you Himself to live, dwell, and burn within you. Now rise up and fight for His glory!
